Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 May 2026
Your privacy matters. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the GPU Shards website, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it.
01Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how GPU Shards (“we”, “us”) collects and processes personal data when you visit our website. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for the personal data described below.
GPU Shards OS itself runs on infrastructure that you own or control. We do not collect or have access to the data processed by your installations or workloads.
02Data we collect
- Contact data — if you email us or subscribe to updates, we process the email address and any information you choose to include.
- Usage and device data — when you visit the website, our servers and any analytics tooling may process technical data such as your IP address, browser type, referring pages, and pages viewed.
- Cookies and local storage — we use a small amount of local storage to remember preferences such as your light/dark theme. Any non-essential cookies are only set with your consent.
We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data, and the website is not directed at children under 16.
03How and why we use your data
We process personal data for the following purposes and legal bases:
- To respond to enquiries and provide support — legal basis: our legitimate interest in communicating with you, or steps taken at your request.
- To send product updates you have signed up for — legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
- To operate and secure the website and understand how it is used — legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the Service.
04Sharing and processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf — for example hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers — under contracts that require them to protect it. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
05Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law. Enquiry correspondence is kept while needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards; subscription data is kept until you unsubscribe.
06Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate data, or completion of incomplete data;
- request erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
- restrict or object to our processing, including direct marketing;
- data portability, where processing is based on consent or a contract;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@gpushards.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority.
07Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
08Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Please review this page periodically.
